Lara Aman Mattey, owner of Ivory Tree Portraits, an independently owned family portrait boutique in Wayne, invited my family in to check out the studio and see all that it has to offer.  Ivory Tree Portraits offers a personalized photography experience from the natural light studio to unique product offerings. Located at 21 West Avenue, the new studio, which opened in April, utilizes distinct handcrafted backgrounds and seasonal vignettes designed by local artists for an ethereal look and feel. Product lines focus on local architecture and include a luxe line featuring glass and metal, an organic line featuring reclaimed wood, and handcrafted pieces – all of which enable clients to chicly display their photos at home.

In exchange for experiencing the “Ivory Tree Portrait way,” we were welcomed to run a giveaway with offering one of our readers the opportunity to receive a $200 gift card to the studio (keep reading so you can enter).
Our experience at Ivory Tree Portraits was like stepping into a magazine!  HGTV would have swooned over this studio!  We were in the natural sunlight studio where local artist, Andrea Moran, painted a mural on the wall to be used as a backdrop.  There was also a seasonal wall backdrop that had beautiful wisteria and finally a neutral wall backdrop.

Marcy, who was our photographer, was clearly a mother herself.  She was phenomenal with my quad squad!  I loved her techniques to get them to smile naturally, snuggle up with one another, and cooperate with what she was asking of them.  I got to sit back and just enjoy watching my loves shine in all their glory!!!Two weeks later to the date, we received an email with the slideshow of proofs.  The kids have probably watched this slideshow at least two dozen times.  They love the music in the background and just seeing themselves and recalling the funny things Marcy had said that made them giggle.  A few days later I returned to the studio to look at the slideshow with another Ivory Tree Portrait staff member, Lexi.  There’s a private viewing room with a large screen.  I really appreciated that she could put photos side by side that I was debating between.  I wanted a photo of my two August babies for their yearly birthday photo, but also of my “quad squad” looking natural, and LOOKING at the camera (a very difficult task)!  Once I told her the photos I chose to keep, she asked if I wanted anything specific retouched besides the traditional edits they make: whitening the teeth, make their cheeks rosier, and erase stray hairs.  I asked to have my sons glitter tattoo remains taken off his forearm, shocking, I know, ha ha ha.  Then I waited a week and BOOM, in my email in-box were our beautiful digital images!!!
